Finished Basement with Bar in Chester County, PA
The Project
This Chester County family finished their basement, and the review they left afterward says it better than we could. The finished space now has a bar area with a sink and seating, plus a lounge area with a large sectional sofa, a window and recessed lighting.
Scope of Work
The project was a basement finish in a Avondale, Chester County home. Here is what stands out in the completed space:
A bar area with gray-green cabinets, including glass-front upper cabinets and a lattice-style wine rack above a pair of doors
A floating wood shelf set against the backsplash
A light countertop that extends into a peninsula with seating for three at upholstered barstools
Two pendant lights over the peninsula, with recessed lighting overhead
A black faucet and black sink, with a window above for natural light
A stainless-framed beverage fridge below the counter
Light-toned flooring throughout
The Look
The backsplash is a glossy, cream-and-beige rectangular tile that gives the bar a warm, soft backdrop. Against it, the gray-green cabinets and black hardware stand out. Beyond the bar, the lounge area keeps the same calm, neutral feel, with a big sectional, a woven floor lamp and a patterned area rug. The family dog has clearly made itself at home too.
