Soaking Tub Bathroom Remodels in Chester County, PA

The Project

Plenty of builder-grade homes around West Chester, Downingtown, Kennett Square, Avondale, Jennersville, and West Grove Chester County came with a big garden tub that takes up half the bathroom, takes a lot of water to fill, and ends up as the most expensive towel shelf in the house. A soaking tub works the other way around. It is deeper and more compact, so you can sink in up to your shoulders at the end of a long day, and it frees up enough floor space for a bigger shower.

One of our recent master baths in the West Grove area did exactly that. The oversized garden tub came out, a smaller soaking tub went in, and the shower ended up twice the size it was.

Scope of Work

  • Removed the oversized garden tub

  • Installed a smaller soaking tub

  • Doubled the size of the shower

Seven Soaking Tub Looks

A soaking tub can go in many different bathrooms. Here are seven takes on it:

  • Stone and fire: A white freestanding tub sits against a stacked stone wall with a fireplace and two brass sconces, over wood-look plank tile.

  • Arched windows: An oval tub with a black floor-mounted faucet sits below two arched windows, with plants along the wall.

  • Glass block light: A rectangular freestanding tub with a chrome faucet sits beside tall glass block windows.

  • Marble-look and brass: A tub with a brass filler sits next to a glass-enclosed shower with brass fixtures, under a crystal light.

  • Vertical accent tile: A strip of marble-look tile runs floor to ceiling behind an oval tub and black faucet.

  • Pattern underfoot: Marble-look wall tile, sage green walls and a patterned tile floor surround a tub with a brass floor-mounted faucet.

  • Soft and simple: A slipper-style tub sits in front of a window with sheer curtains, next to a dark vanity.

What Makes It Feel Like a Spa

That is why soaking tubs have stuck around while other bathroom trends come and go. They are not really about a look. They are about how you actually use the room. With the right tile, good lighting and a little breathing room around the tub, your bathroom can feel like a spa you do not have to drive to, especially once the nights start getting colder.

We remodel bathrooms across Chester, Montgomery and Bucks counties. If your tub is not getting much use, request a free estimate and tell us which of these looks you would pick.
